5 Must-See Brands at FN Platform

FN Platform turns five this year, and the trade show has plenty to celebrate. Since its 2010 debut, attendance has grown by over 30 percent — and the exhibitor roster has swelled by more than 62 percent. “It’s been incredible to witness [the show’s growth],” said Leslie Gallin, president of footwear for parent firm Advanstar Global. Roughly 115 brands will present their collections for the first time this year. Here, Gallin gives the inside scoop on five not-to-be-missed new exhibitors:

Black Dioniso

“Black Dioniso is the ultimate sneaker lover’s fantasy. They create breathtakingly creative and forward-thinking styles that are wearable for every day.

Andrew Kayla

“Andrew Kayla showcases the perfect point of view for today’s woman: a balance of class, function and sex appeal. He enhances classic silhouettes with unexpected details and crafts each shoe to complement the woman wearing it.”

Crime London

“They’re a vanguard European brand that’s bringing cool, edgy sneakers with flair. The founders are inspired by the sounds and vibes of London’s underground districts, so the styling epitomizes East London.”

“Aigle has been in business for more than 150 years and gives the classic rainboot a run for its money. They’ve taken the rubber boot and evolved it into a full fashion-and-active lifestyle brand.”

“This Dutch collection is produced in Italy and is simply timeless. Panara is subtle in appearance, offering classic silhouettes with an emphasis on quality craftsmanship and materials.”
