PUMA has just unleashed its Puma x Solange collaboration titled “Word to the Woman.” This is Solange Knowles’ third collaboration with Puma. This time around, Knowles — who serves as artistic director—has profiled and photographed 14 influential women in a variety of industries. There’s a doctor, an artist, a songwriter, a makeup artist, a DJ and more.
Puma says the women are threaded together by their determination to empower other women in today’s society. The shoes will be released in a two-part collection. The first release features the Puma Suede, which has been reimagined in textured monochrome versions of white, Creamsicle orange, dark and light blue, yellow and an avocado green.
Between the first and second drops, Puma will release video interviews of all of the women included in the campaign. The collaboration involves Knowles’ record company, Saint Records, and its coordinating creative platform, Saint Heron.
“The Puma team couldn’t be more supportive,” says Knowles. “Sometimes I conjure up these slightly wild ideas, create a presentation and sweat a little when I hit send; but every time they get it and agree to go on this awesome ride with me.”
The collection is available on Six02.com and Puma.com and retails for $90.
