Adidas has dropped a new short film as part of their ‘Original Superstar’ campaign. Pharrell Williams, who has worked with the brand on several limited edition sneaker packs, has personally chosen five people who he believes are creative influencers.
Pusha T, Gregoriy Dobrygin, Smithe, VJ Mian, and Yoon star in the minute-long film. The brand says that these individuals are all committed to “creating for an audience of one—the true calling card of an Original Superstar.”
The goal is to debunk the idea that one must create in order to gain approval from others—particularly by social media “likes.” All of the influencers say in the film that they create for themselves and for an audience of one.
The Adidas Superstar sneaker was first released in 1969 and has transformed into a staple of street style. The brand says that 2015 “marks the next chapter of the Superstar legacy with product drops and artist collaborations throughout the year.”

The influencers Williams chose have backgrounds in music, fashion, art, and dance. Williams’ Superstar Supershell collection will become available soon. His Superstar Supercolor pack has been spotted on the likes of Gigi Hadid, Cara Delevingne, and NBA player Joel Embiid.
