Big can be beautiful.

That’s the way Mariah Chase, CEO and Jodi Arnold, VP of design of plus-size apparel label Eloquii, view the women’s apparel and footwear markets.

To give its customers a head-to-toe experience, the privately-owned online business today launched a companion shoe collection of tailored and dress looks. According to Chase, women had been searching for footwear on Eloquii.com, initiating the decision to add shoes. The words shoes, boots and heels had been searched nearly 5,500 times, by women seeking footwear on the site, according to the company.

“Women wanted wide-calf boots and wider width shoes with a fashion look,” said Chase, about the collection that’s available in sizes seven to 12 in a D/E width. Knee-high boots feature a calf circumference of 19 inches. To enhance the comfort of the collection, the shoes feature cushioned insoles.

Like the apparel collection, Chase and Arnold were determined to bring women the same trend-right looks in footwear as appare According to Chase, the plus-size customer typically has not had a positive in-store shopping experience due to the lack of options. “They haven’t been able to shop on the cool fashion floor,” she said.

The debut fall footwear collection includes dressy four-inch heels, Chelsea boots, flats and classic pumps, retailing from $70 to $200. “Our lady is polished,” said Chase, referring to a target audience of career women from 25 to 45. Moving into spring ’16, the team is working on some casual additions to the collection.
