Alice + Olivia’s Stacey Bendet Shares Style & Beauty Secrets

The Alice + Olivia collection is filled with playful patterns and unique pieces, so it’s no surprise that Creative Director Stacey Bendet’s life is, too.

The CEO and co-founder of the women’s contemporary brand has been busy making the rounds lately at fundraisers in New York, including a celebration for her own collaboration with artist Domingo Zapata to benefit the Council of Fashion Designers of America. She also hit the red carpet at the CFDA Awards last week wearing red leather bell bottoms and a long, patterned coat.

And Bendet has recently made a big play in the shoe business. The designer signed an agreement with Schwartz & Benjamin in April to expand her brand’s footwear offering, starting with a November resort collection.

“Alice + Olivia is known for print, color and novelty, and I wanted to bring all of this to footwear in a larger and more meaningful way,” the designer told Footwear News. “I’m thrilled to have an experienced footwear partner like Schwartz & Benjamin on board to help grow this category for our brand.”

She also dished on some of her colorful favorites and her signature smoky eyes.

My Handbag Essentials: “I tend to carry half my life in every bag everywhere: lots of sunblock, homeoplasmine lotion, Nars Glitter Sticks. Oh, and Ring Pops.”

Biggest Fashion Don’t: “I don’t do see-through, but it seems a lot of other women feel differently. A little bit of mystery is intriguing.”
