Sheer indulgence: Luxury jewelry and accessories brand Feri, produced by Canada-based Global Wealth Trade Corp. (GWT), has added shoes to its offering with the launch this month of men’s and women’s footwear collections.
The upscale looks, retailing from $700 to $1,200 for men’s and $800 to $1,800 for women’s, was designed by Creative Director Sanaz Hooman. “I wanted to design shoes that not only exude the kind of timeless sophistication for which Feri is recognized, but to provide our customers with footwear that impeccably fits their lives,” said Hooman.
The women’s collection, produced in Italy, includes ladylike pumps and platform wedges, while the men’s line, produced in Portugal, features updates on traditional tassel slip-ons and ankle boots.
The company takes a unique approach to distribution. Instead of offering the collection for purchase on a branded website or through retail channels, Feri has assembled a team of consultants who buy product from the company and then resell the goods to individual consumers.
According to Hooman, individuals interested in joining the sales team are trained to become luxury consultants by the company. They then create a virtual mall of goods that can be resold directly to consumers and are paid on a commission basis. But these consultants are not required to resell goods — they can also buy products for their own end use.
Shoppers interested in Feri’s collections can log on to Feridesignerlines.com, where they will be directed to a luxury consultant based on the shopper’s Zip code.
