M.O.A. is bringing a little Disney magic to its spring ’16 collection.
The Italian footwear brand — whose name stands for Master of Arts — is partnering with the entertainment giant on a special capsule of adult sneakers featuring Mickey Mouse.
The collection, which will debut at retail in December, takes a pop-art approach to the classic animated character, using bold graphic prints and appliqués. The offering includes several tennis, running and slip-on sneaker styles.
“As a brand MOA celebrates art in all its forms and, as animation is art in motion and, as Mickey Mouse is a legendary character in the minds of virtually every citizen of the world, we wanted to challenge ourselves and see whether we could combine the two aspects and create a modern sneaker with a vintage character that would make fans happy but at the same time feel grown up,” said Matteo Tugliani, CEO, on the collaboration.
Launched in Florence in 2013, M.O.A. aims to celebrate art in contemporary fashion.
