Volcom has teamed up with artist, snowboard legend and veteran Volcom team rider Bryan Iguchi for a winter-ready footwear collection, featuring signature editions of a popular boot and shoe from the brand.
The Bryan Iguchi Outlander boot and Grimm Mid 2 shoe are available now on the brand’s website, Volcom.com, and retail for $165 and $100, respectively. Both the Outlander and the Grimm Mid 2 feature the snowboarder’s Teepee Stone artwork, which was designed specifically for the collection and symbolizes shelter, comfort and protection from the elements.
The Outlander features water resistant nubuck leather on its upper and back woods design surrounding Iguchi’s artwork, with technical details made for both mountain trails and winter sidewalks. The boot also features a durable rubber outsole with extra grip, a molded heel counter and EVA heel strike for long-lasting comfort, tongue gussets, a padded tongue and collar, rubber mud guard, and RCF Technology footbed.
“I spend my winters walking around on snow and ice,” Iguchi said in a statement. “From my home to the trailhead these boots have endured the harshest Wyoming Winters. I live in these.”
The Grimm Mid 2 boasts a water resistant nubuck upper, thinly padded tongue and collar, and a Molded Recliner Comfort Foam insole.
“Guch is passionate about product,” said Jason Smith, footwear director for Volcom, in a statement. “He knows what works in the real world and his input is always on point. The fact that he’s also an artist made this collaboration pretty much seamless.”
