Under Armour vs. Adidas: Stephen Curry & James Harden Face Off Tonight

Last season’s NBA regular-season MVP and the MVP runner-up will meet on the court tonight, with Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors visiting James Harden and the Houston Rockets at 9:30 p.m.

Under Armour-sponsored guard Curry started the season in championship form and showed he’s still an MVP-caliber talent, dropping 40 points in the Warriors’ 111-95 home opening win against Nike-sponsored power forward Anthony Davis and the New Orleans Pelicans on Tuesday. Curry was 14-of-26 from the field, draining five three-pointers in just over 35 minutes of play.

Adidas-sponsored guard Harden didn’t fare as well in his regular-season debut. Harden and the Rockets were blown out at home on Wednesday by Under Armour-sponsored rookie guard Emmanuel Mudiay and the Denver Nuggets, 105-85. Harden had 22 points and 6 assists in the loss, shooting just 6-of-22 from the field.

Curry hit the court in a player’s edition colorway of his second Under Armour signature shoe, the Curry Two. The shoe featured the Warriors’ home colors of white, blue and taxi yellow. Harden, who signed a 13-year, $200 million deal with Adidas in the off-season, doesn’t have a signature shoe with the brand yet. The guard hit the court in the Crazylight Boost Primeknit 2015 in a Rockets colorway.
