Retailer Jimmy Jazz has teamed up with outdoor brand Timberland for the launch of the 6-inch Helcor boot, exclusive to the retailer. To launch the boot, the retailer and the brand created a video campaign featuring four of New York City’s top battle rappers and will host a rap battle for a chance to win $3,000.
The boot will drop Nov. 20 and will be available in men’s and grade school sizes. The men’s sizes will retail for $190 and the grade school sizes will retail for $130. The boots will be sold at select Jimmy Jazz locations and through the brand’s website.
The abrasion-resistant, heat-resistant, and waterproof boots feature a textured upper with a contrasting padded collar, rust-proof metal eyelets, a metal Timberland logo plate on the side, and a rubber outsole for traction and durability. The boots are enclosed in co-branded Jimmy Jazz and Timberland packaging.
To participate in the battle, entrants must buy the boots, follow Jimmy Jazz (@jimmyjazzstores) and Timberland (@timberland) on Instagram, and post a video on the social media platform rapping about why you are made for the Modern Trail (the account must be public). The contestants will be named on Dec. 2 on Jimmy Jazz’s website.
The video campaign features four of New York City’s top battle rappers, including Math Hoffa, D.N.A., Goodz and Charlie Clips, who will also be the battle’s guest judges. The battle will take place at Santos Party House on Dec. 11 at 7 p.m., and will be hosted by DJ Clark Kent.
