For the launch of Timberland’s “Made for the Modern Trail” campaign, supporting the release of its latest collection of footwear and apparel, the outdoor brand is engaging customers through music — and free rides around NYC.
Uber and Timberland have teamed up to give customers an “urban adventure,” consisting of a free 30-minute ride through the streets of NYC. By using the Uber app on Wednesday, the “Timberland” option will be uncovered after entering the promo code MODERNTRAIL. By doing this, you could get a ride between 4-8 p.m. in Manhattan, Williamsburg and Greenpoint in an Uber SUV, along with a pair of boots and a backpack.
The promotions continue on Friday with a free performance by recording artist and Timberland brand ambassador Jamie N Commons. The British musician will perform at Center548, located at 548 W. 22nd Street in New York, with the doors opening at 7 p.m. Fans can RSVP for the show via links provided on the Timberland website.
Some of the products featured in the campaign are in stores now, while others will continue to be released throughout the season.
“The Modern Trail represents a new kind of outdoor exploration — one that increasingly takes place in and around the city,” said Jim Davey, VP of global marketing for Timberland, in a statement. “These spontaneous adventures serve as the centerpiece of our creative this season, and will come to life through the largest, most integrated global marketing campaign in Timberland’s history. We’ll communicate and engage with consumers on multiple platforms, with digital at the core of everything we do.”
