On Oct. 3, the brand will release the Lunar Trout 2 and the Lunar Trout 2 Turf. The cleats will retail for $140, and the turf shoes will retail for $120.
Both the cleat and the turf shoe will be available in four colorways, with the Blueprint being the launch color way, sold exclusively on Nike’s website. The colorways available at Nike retailers and the brand’s website of both the cleat and turf shoe are white and black, gray and white, red and white, and blue and white.
The Blueprint colorway, featuring various shades of blue with white accents, is reminiscent of building blueprints, with sketches of Trout engaging in a number of baseball moves, including a head-first slide, running the bases and swinging a bat. The shoes also feature sketched images of baseball paraphernalia, such as home plate and 489 feet (the longest home run hit by Trout — or anyone in baseball — in 2014 at Kauffman Stadium in Kansas City). Not surprisingly, the sketches also include fish, a nod to the player’s last name.
The reigning American League MVP and four-time All-Star is hitting .294 this season, with 38 home runs and 83 RBIs. Trout is a career .303 hitter, with 136 home runs and 390 RBIs in his four seasons of professional baseball.
