Kobe Bryant has suffered injuries in each of the past three seasons that have kept him on the bench to end the season. Nike’s latest Kobe X release is a nod to the guard’s insistence on returning even stronger and more aggressive each time.
The Kobe X Overcome will hit stores Thursday, with a retail price tag of $180.
The shoe’s upper is a combination of the brand’s emerald glow, court purple and reflect silver. Although most of the upper is dominated by emerald glow and court purple, the reflect silver swoosh is its most noticeable feature. Court purple also makes an appearance on the shoe’s outsole, with emerald glow taking the bottom of the sole, with both covered by an icy transparent overlay.
The Kobe X features the brand’s Zoom unit in the heel and Lunarlon foam for cushioning, carbon-fiber shank for responsiveness and a mesh half-inner sleeve for ventilation and support.
The next Kobe X release will be the Elite Low Mambacurial, which is slated to hit stores on Sept. 12. The Elite Low Mambacurial will boast a colorway of black, white, wolf gray and pink flash. The shoe will retail for $200.
