Nike is readying to take a walk on the wild side with the Nov. 5 launch of its Kids’ Air Max 1 Zoo Pack. The shoe reimagines the iconic Air Max 1 with new novelty patterns that include a calf-hair upper in jaguar, zebra and tiger prints.
This standout playground style taps into the continuing trend in the adult market for faux fur.
The athletic brand recently looked through its Air Max catalog to update its Air Max 90 silhouette, this time for women. The FA15 Air Max 90 City collection uses beverage references for its color-blocking theme. Six popular sweets have inspired styles linked to specific locales. For Milan, Aperitivo; New York, Strawberrry Cheescake; Paris, Macaron; Shanghai, Must Win Cake; Tokyo, Harajuku Crepe and London, Eton Mess.
Timed to launch the same day as the kids’ line, Nike’s SneakerBoot collection for adults is designed to perform during colder weather. The seven-style collection offers more rugged interpretations of the original outsoles and linings found on its popular styles. Added features include water-resistant uppers, heat-reflective sock liners and thermal linings. For safety as well as warmth, the shoes sport reflective elements, including iridescent swoosh logos.
