Weekend Sneaker Releases: Nike, Adidas

There aren’t many releases coming out this weekend, but the ones that are hitting stores are worthy of being added to your collection — including basketball silhouettes from Nike and lifestyle silhouettes from Adidas. Check out what you can pick up this weekend.

Nike Air Foamposite Pro

The groundbreaking Nike Air Foamposite Pro silhouette, originally released in 1997, is still a sought-after basketball shoe for sneakerheads today. On Friday, fans can pick up the black, gorge green, metallic gold and gym red colorway. The shoe has a retail price of $230.

Air Jordan 9 Retro Anthracite

The coveted shoe from the year Michael Jordan first retired from basketball is getting a dark makeover with the release of the Air Jordan 9 Retro Anthracite, hitting stores Saturday. The shoe boasts an anthracite upper with white accents and a black outsole. The shoe will retail for $190.

Adidas Vanguard Collection

Although the collection will be available via retailer Extra Butter’s web store on Monday and through select Adidas Originals retail partners on Sept. 12, the New York-based store will have 100 pairs of each of the two featured silhouettes available via an Instagram scavenger hunt. The collection uses Adidas’ ZX Flux and ZX Trail Mid silhouettes, which will retail for $130 and $140, respectively.

Nautical seascapes and the life that inhabits it is the inspiration behind the ZX Flux Chief Diver, which features a rare species print neoprene upper with glow in the dark accents. The ZX Trail Mid Scout Leader is influenced by survival enthusiasts and campgrounds, and features a duck canvas and nappy suede upper that boasts embroidered patches.
