France-based retailer Colette has delivered some of the more compelling collaborations with lifestyle footwear brands of late. Now, along with France-based communications company La MJC, the retailer has teamed up with Italian footwear brand Diadora for a sneaker release that is sure to turn heads.
The two shoes in the collaboration are exclusive to Colette and another France-based retailer, Club 75. The styles pay homage to Marco Verratti, the favorite soccer player of Michael Dupouy, co-founder of La MJC and author of the annual streetwear book, “All Gone.”
The collaboration uses the brand’s classic N9000 silhouette and is available in two colorways: blue with white accents and white with blue accents. The predominantly blue pair is made with premium suede, while the predominately white pair is made with kangaroo leather. Adorning the heel of the shoe is an owl, a nod to Verratti, who is nicknamed “Gufetto” — Italian for “little owl.”
The shoes are available now.
Last month, Colette partnered with Asics to release the Dotty, a new color way of the classic Gel Lyte III silhouette on its 25th anniversary. The shoe features a blue leather with white polka dots and white leather with blue polka dots on the upper, with an all-white outsole with blue polka dots near the shoe’s midsole.
