The latest Converse collaboration to be announced sees the brand partnering with Tokyo-based street culture icon, Hiroshi Fujiwara.
The Converse Cons CTS fragment design collection consists of 5 styles, utilizing heavy vintage canvas uppers. The 3 solid colors, navy, parchment and black, feature contrasting white stitching and nickel hardware.
In addition, the range includes 2 striped styles, comprising of bold metallic striping against a white canvas, and tonal hardware.
Fujiwara has added some additional subtle aesthetics — his signature midsole branding and simple logo placements. The drop-in Lunarlon sockliners and memory foam padding — elements the skateboarding shoes are known for — also feature throughout the collection.
Known at the Godfather of Harajuku, Fujiwara said “I love the classic Converse silhouettes. I wanted to put my mark on a legendary sneaker, keeping its simplicity but adding my own aesthetic. This is just the beginning.”
The Converse Cons CTS fragment design collection will be available at select retailers throughout Asia from Thursday September 10, with the worldwide release schedules for Friday September 11. The sneakers will have a suggested retail price of $80 USD.
