Chuck Taylor devotees can look forward to adding yet another style to their wardrobe with the launch on September 15 of a limited-edition Chuck Taylor All Star II in a new Volt colorway, inspired by the Nike Lunarlon technology infused in the new silhouette. It is the second iteration of the All Star II.
While the new style boasts recognizable exterior features of the original Chuck Taylor All Star, it is updated with Lunarlon technology — a soft, yet resilient foam core that is encased with a supportive foam carrier for lightweight, ultra-plush cushioning, spring response and support.
Additional details include white foxing, rubber toecap, monochrome matte eyelets and statement embroidered All Star patch. For added comfort, it features a foam padded collar, non-slip gusseted tongue and perforated micro suede liner.
The style will retail for $70 for the oxford and $75 for the hi-top at Converse retail stores, select retailers and online at Converse.com.
For young consumers unfamiliar with the Chuck Taylor legacy, the brand was established in 1908 and has been associated with iconic styles including the Jack Purcell and the Chuck Taylor All Star and One Star. Today, the company is a wholly owned subsidiary of athletic giant Nike Inc. Converse is sold in 160 countries and through 92 compnay-owned retail stores in the U.S.
