West Coast-based retailer Bait is having a busy April. After teaming up with Asics for the Splash City edition of the brand’s classic Gel Lyte V, released on April 11, the retailer will release another collaboration with the brand on April 25 — the same day it celebrates the grand opening of its new San Francisco location.
The Misfits version of the Gel Lyte V, according to the retailer, is the second edition of its Bay Pack, influenced by a local successful sports franchise to celebrate their love for the city. The shoe utilizes the San Francisco Giants’ colors, boasting a predominantly black suede upper with burnt orange suede along the toe to the midsole, and burnt orange in the rear and middle of the mostly white outsole.
The name Misfits, according to Bait, is drawn from how the team, which wasn’t looked at as a World Series contender, won it all in 2010.
The shoe will retail for $150 and be available through a raffle process at the store’s San Francisco store, at 3162 16th Street, and via the retailer’s website.
The first collaboration of the Bay Pack, the Splash City, was released earlier this month and used the same Gel Lyte V silhouette to pay homage to California basketball by using the Golden State Warriors’ colors.
