Suzanne Somers brought back the Thighmaster for her debut performance on the premiere of “Dancing With the Stars.” Somers and partner Tony Dovolani may have had the best costumes of the night — bright blue and yellow 1980s aerobic attire — for their cha-cha routine.
Somers cha-cha’d her way around the dance floor in tennis shoes, scoring a 25 out of 40. After the performance, Somers and her partner talked to E! Entertainment about the challenges the “Three’s Company” actress faced in her first dance — and it turns out one challenge was her shoes.
“I’m looking forward to heels,” she told E! “I have not been in tennis shoes in … I don’t remember when I wore them. It’s a little-known fact: I was born in Manolo Blahniks. My first steps were in stilettos, so for me to be in tennis shoes, like, I had to deal with that, too.”
Another actress attracted major attention — not for her costume, but for her surprising talent. Contestant Rumer Willis and partner Val Chmerkovskiy earned the highest score of the night: 32. Her famous parents, Bruce Willis and Demi Moore, were also in attendance.
