Just when you thought Lady Gaga’s February couldn’t get any better, the singer announced this morning on Twitter a big move into TV.
Gaga is set to join the cast of “American Horror Story” for Season Five, whose theme is hotel.
It’s a big surprise for Gaga fans (who are known as “little monsters” — so maybe it’s not that big of a stretch after all) and certainly for “American Horror Story” fans as well. There was a lot of speculation concerning this season’s theme.
Each season, the cultish television show reinvents itself with a new topic and cast members. Last season’s “freakshow” earned big praise for its cast members, including Kathy Bates and series mainstay Jessica Lange.

While details of Gaga’s story and role are being kept under wraps, it’s another coup for the performer, who is best known for her outlandish wardrobe, concept videos and dance music.
On Sunday, she reinvented herself at the Academy Awards by performing a “Sound of Music” medley that shocked everyone, earning her a standing ovation.
She’s also made waves in the music industry over the past few years for teaming up with standards master Tony Bennett, a fruitful collaboration that won her a Grammy Award earlier this month. Plus, she announced her engagement to boyfriend Taylor Kinney last week.
One thing that’s not surprising is Gaga’s ability to seamlessly move among mediums and garner big attention at the same time. It also doesn’t hurt that she’s almost always doing that while wearing daring statement shoes.
