Anna Kendrick Sings Beyoncé in New ‘Pitch Perfect 2’ Trailer, Says She Needs to Wear Low Heels For Oscar Performance

The Barden Bellas are back again in a new trailer for “Pitch Perfect 2.” This time around the girls enter an international a cappella competition that no American team has ever won.

In the trailer, Rebel Wilson, aka Fat Amy, is hanging from the ceiling in a compromising position, team Germany sings “Poison” and Anna Kendrick, Brittany Snow and the rest of the group perform “Girls! Who Run the World,” by Beyoncé. Not to mention, the Barden Bellas are rocking some Adidas wedge sneakers.

FN was able to catch up with the film’s costume designer, Salvador Pérez, in December to talk footwear fashion for “Pitch Perfect 2.”

“In the first movie, they all wore those stupid black pumps, which the girls hated. In this [film], each outfit has a story behind it. In the opening number, they wear black-and-white oxfords, but I added Swarovski crystals. The girls were gaga over them,” said Perez.

“I always think women are better in a heel, but for the dance performances, we put them in a wedge sneaker. We have Nike, and the finale is Adidas. And of course I added rhinestones, because crystals make everything better.”

Since the first “Pitch Perfect,” Kendrick has really emerged as a great singer, and starred in the musical “Into the Woods.” Now, the actress will be performing at the Oscars. Details are hush-hush, but Kendrick told Ellen she was very nervous for the performance.

“I mean, I get nervous anytime I perform, because it’s not really what I do. I’m so happy that people ask me to do it, but it’s not really my area, so I do get really nervous, so we’re gonna have to make sure that the heels are low and the dress is loose,” she said during her interview on “The Ellen Show.”
