Oscars 2015: Best Dressed Power Couples

Despite the rain, this year’s best shod couples kept it chic on the Oscars red carpet. And while the men relied on classic black footwear options, many of their leading ladies stepped out in statement heels.

Jennifer Aniston, in Stuart Weitzman sandals, and Justin Theroux, in smart lace-ups, swept the red carpet at the 87th Academy Awards on Sunday. Chrissy Teigen and John Legend, too, continued their footwear tour de force. Teigen, who has afforded us plenty of red carpet shoe moments thanks to strategic slits and lacy skirts, wore custom-dyed Stuart Weitzman heels to match her Zuhair Murad gown, while Legend opted for black shoes.

Best Actor nominee Benedict Cumberbatch might have stuck to black as well, but his new wife Sophie Hunter, played up her red gown with strappy bronze heels. Channing Tatum and wife Jenna Dewan struck just the right note as they arrived ahead of the show. Take a look in the gallery above to see the coordinated footwear efforts of Hollywood’s leading couples.

Here’s how your favorite red-carpet pairs have played out in the 2015 awards season:

The Golden Globes were awash with floor-length gowns, which meant, you guessed it: little shoe clues. What we do know: Amal Clooney wore head-to-toe Dior, Reese Witherspoon opted for Jimmy Choo’s Patsy platforms, and Chrissy Teigen stood tall in Casadei heels. Their partners, George Clooney, Jim Toth and John Legend, respectively, played it safe in black lace-ups.

From the Globes to the SAGs, Aniston and Theroux cast a stylish shadow. The actress transitioned from sandals to red satin Christian Louboutin satin pumps and finally black Jimmy Choo heels at the various events all beside her fiance, who wore slick black footwear.

Comedic power-duo Leslie Mann and Judd Apatow turned heads at the Critic’s Choice Awards, where the actress stepped out in strappy Burak Uyan heels. Overall, the men have plaid it pretty straightforward this season, while their female counterparts have stepped out in plenty of top notch designer footwear. Who was your best dressed two-some?
