Fashionary, a fashion sketchbook line, has released its first-ever “Shoe Design” book. With the release, Fashionary is expanding its concept from exclusively womenswear to include footwear. “Shoe Design,” a complete handbook and encyclopedia for footwear designers, includes a “Shoe Style Library” with more than 300 styles featured.
Inside the Encyclopedia section, Fashionary provides readers with information on everything from shoe measurements and the anatomy of a foot to manufacturing and shoe construction. The book also offers insight on shoe care, types of patterns, materials, shoe labels and trade fairs.
Whether it’s a slingback thong, platform or huarache, “Shoe Design” includes 60 shoe templates, plus 12 shoe-last templates with different heel heights, toe shapes and footwear types for tracing and sketching.
The shoe sketchbook then gives designers and shoe lovers the ability to draw and design on 300 preprinted shoe templates, including a flat, three- and six-inch heel heights in proportioned foot silhouettes.
“Shoe Design” and the Fashionary shoe sketchbook are now available at fashionary.org and at selected retail stores.
