There’s no doubt that “Empire” has had a far-reaching effect on fashio. The TV show and cultural phenomenon from Lee Daniels and Danny Strong, which debuts its second season in September, just announced a partnership with retailer Saks Fifth Avenue.
The trend-right and sometimes flashy styles of the characters — from Cookie and Lucious Lyon to their music-mogul sons —have been curated into the Empire Collection, available exclusively at Saks. The retailer tapped several designer teams to create the capsule line. Shoes by Jimmy Choo, jewelry from Alexis Bittar, ready-to-wear items by Cushnie et Ochs and accessories by MCM have been selected for the special lineup.
Naturally, the shoes caught our eye. Some 16 Jimmy Choo styles are featured, including some seriously standout sneakers, as well as heels for Cookie. We imagine Cookie would definitely have a whole lot of love for those knee-high, calf-hair, leopard-print boots, aptly named the Lyonise Printed Boots.
Plus, the windows at the Sak’s New York flagship and the Beverly Hills store are getting an “Empire” gold makeover to coincide with the second-season premiere. The collection will get a starring role in the windows.
Trai Byers, who plays Andre Lyon in the show, is also the cover star of Sak’s magalog, coming out this fall.
Now the only thing that we can’t wait for is the premiere of season two.
