Today is Groundhog Day, which means a new weather outlook for the season and a sense of dèja vu — something that often occurs in cyclical fashion trends as well.
But back to the day: Everyone’s favorite furry groundhog, Punxsutawney Phil, emerged and saw his shadow this morning, promising six more weeks of winter.
The forecast was announced just before 7:30 a.m. this morning, at Gobbler’s Knob in Punsxutawney, Penn.
Though the weather outlook may be bleak, let’s not forget that Groundhog Day is also about an eerily familiar feeling. (Remember the Bill Murray movie where he wakes up and every day is the same?)
That recurring feeling can’t help but strike a chord for those in fashion, where season after season, the same trends keep popping up on the runway and in the market. Leopard print again? Metallics again?
In honor of the day, FN takes a look at the top shoe trends that are worth revisiting over and over (and over). Though these trends may not evoke newness, they have become modern wardrobe staples.
