Tod’s To Launch Customization Service In Select Stores

Italian brand Tod’s is set to debut a customization feature called “Gommino Club” in select retail locations that will let customers personalize its signature Gommino moccasin style by choosing from a range of finishes.

Customers can select from 15 colored leather swatches and can also personalize the top leather braid in a variety hues. The final step includes a monogrammed imprint of the customer’s initials.

Each pair also comes with a membership card and a serial number, which allows customers to track the shoes’ progress while they’re being made. Average delivery time for the custom shoes is two months.

“Tod’s has had great success this year with special-edition and limited-edition pieces,” said Tod’s GM Claudio Castiglioni. “Our customers are well-traveled and sophisticated, so they respond to a product that is exclusive to them. With the Gommino Club, we’re excited to now offer this feature with our iconic shoe.”

The service will become available at the end of March for $645 in select stores.

Even without the custom add-ons, the Gommino moc requires more than 100 steps to build. Its sole is made of 133 rubber pebbles.

Tod’s was already offering customization of its handbags and other leather goods. Gommino Club is the most extensive option for footwear so far.
