Alexandre Birman has a way with exotics. For resort ’16, the designer turned to eel and crocodile skins.
Lighter materials, like linen and crochet, are also woven throughout the offering. According to brand insiders, Birman and his team wanted to continue representing the artisans in his native Brazil with looks that feature careful craftsmanship.
Wedges, lace-up booties, espadrilles, flat sandals and strappy heels with gladiator inspiration all make an appearance. Stilettos get metallic touches, platforms and block heels appear in a variety of heights. Platforms are also in the mix. Birman is not afraid of bold colors and combined hues, which we at FN applaud.
Plus, the Clarita heel, which is a favorite among the celebrity set, gets an update with snakeskin and embellishments. The designer even celebrated the style’s success with a recent party in New York City.
