French ballet flat brand Repetto is introducing men’s ballet flats for fall ’15.
The Caruso men’s style—which is made in France—will retail for $375. It will be available at the new, 2,350 square feet Repetto store opening in SoHo, New York, later this year.
Made in a black patent leather, the men’s flat is made using a stitch-and-return method, which makes the style more flexible and comfort-oriented.
Coincidentally on-trend, men’s ballet flats have been an unlikely trend at the recent men’s shows. Brands like Dries Van Noten and Gucci have embraced the typically more feminine footwear style, encouraging a more genderless approach to menswear dressing.
The Repetto brand has become known for its iconic ballet slippers, which date back to 1947.
Founder Rose Repetto created her first shoes in a workshop at the National Opera of Paris, following the advice and encouragement of her son, who was a dancer and choreographer.
