Oscar de la Renta has debuted its first ad campaign since Peter Copping took the helm at the design house following Oscar’s death in October 2014.
The fall ’15 campaign features model Carolyn Murphy, who was shot in New York City by photographer David Sims. Creative Director Copping worked with stylist Alex White, who has styled campaigns for Prada, Chanel and Louis Vuitton among others.
It wouldn’t be an Oscar de la Renta show without a dramatic gown. This time, in addition to a pink-and-black gown, Murphy dons a black jacket with white ruffled top and a tulip skirt, paired with maroon-and-black Mary Jane heels.
There’s also a pair of slingbacks that ooze Oscar de la Renta charm. The black patent pointy-toe heel features a gauzy black bow on the back for a sweet statement.
“I wanted the fall Oscar de la Renta campaign to express the couture spirit that has always been associated with the house,” Coppinge said. “Carolyn Murphy, a natural beauty, captures perfectly what I was looking for — a modern Oscar woman.”
The campaign release coincided with de la Renta’s birthday, on July 22. In honor of Oscar’s birthday, FN rounded up his most memorable runway shoes. De la Renta would have been 83.
