Loewe is stepping up its sneaker game. The Spanish luxury brand, designed under the creative direction of Jonathan Anderson, has released a full collection of men’s sneakers to debut in stores by January.
“I wanted the first Loewe sneaker to be young, easy and fun, but also for it to have a collectible edge,” said Anderson.
The sneaker debuted in the brand’s fall ’15 campaign, but for spring, Anderson has newly designed the silhouette in a more plentiful array of colors and prints, including a space travel-inspired galaxy print that was extended to the men’s ready-to-wear collection.
Combining a bowling-shoe silhouette with rubber sneaker soles, the style is offered in a mix of suedes and calf leathers. The shoes also feature hand-painted edges and perforated side panels.
Until now, the brand has offered a more edited footwear collection, including dress shoes and espadrilles. Since coming on board, Anderson has helped revive the brand with a more youthful, experimental approach.
