Donald Robertson’s quirky prints are getting the shoe treatment. The Instagram-famous artist — known as @drawbertson — unveiled two new projects this weekend, including hand-painted shoes from Converse and Valentina Carrano.
Robertson showcased a few takes on the classic Converse Chuck Taylor, where he painted the sneaker with his signature silhouetted model print. To finish off the eye-catching style, he covered the classic patch logo with a punchy red lip (which just happens to be Robertson’s Instagram profile pic).
The artist also customized a pair of Valentina Carrano’s Leonie heel, where he plastered on images of a bandaid, engagement ring and safety pin. The style appears to be in collaboration with Bergdorf Goodman, as Carrano wrote on her Instagram page, “@valentinacarranoofficial x @drawbertson for @bergdorfs. Thank you Donald for pimping the Leonie!”
This isn’t the first time Robertson has collaborated with a footwear brand. For spring ’15, he released a capsule collection with Brian Atwood that included lip-printed heels in a variety of heights, from single-sole stilettos to ultra-high platforms.
