For his spring ’16 collection, designer Todd Lynn enlisted Christian Louboutin to create the footwear. The men’s and women’s collection was presented with a distinctively desert feel, with Lynn opting for a color palette predominantly made up of neutrals—a noticeable departure from his usual use of black.
The Canadian native, who launched his London-based brand in 2006, presented unisex, biker-style boots by Louboutin to complement the clothing. “Androgyny is what I always do,” said Lynn. “Boys and girls are becoming the same, that’s what’s happening in the world.”
Models all donned bleached blonde wigs, complete with blunt bangs. The mid-calf boots featured metallics in addition to python, stamped eyelets and ties.
“I’m obsessed with the shoes,” said Lynn, speaking of the spring ’16 boots. “They have a real continuity with the patchwork details of the collection.”
“There’s a lot of tying-on, which I love. I like the idea of a found garment; it reminds me of being a kid when I’d find clothes and adapt them. You make your own vision in how it’s worn,” he continued.
