The video, titled ‘Foil,’ features U.S. Olympic fencer Miles Chamley-Watson wearing Buscemi’s signature 100MM white leather high-top. His opponent? The sneaker itself.
“I wanted to make something that feels uniquely Buscemi,” said director Taylor Twist. “Visceral, beautiful and meticulously crafted.” The film sees Watson thrusting his sword right into the sneaker’s signature padlock—a kill shot, we would say.
Buscemi is known for its luxe high-tops, which have been seen on the feet of celebrities like Justin Bieber, Jourdan Dunn and Diddy. Back in July, the brand introduced leather slide sandals to its collection as well.
The brand has released other short films throughout the year, with different guest directors coming on board for the various videos.
“Sky” sees the sneakers going for a skydiving lesson, while “The Escapist” takes them underwater (with its price tag coming in just under $1,000, we would advise not getting them wet). The films can all be viewed here.
