Footwear News has confirmed that the much-anticipated collaboration between H&M and Balmain will include a footwear component — and the world got a sneak peek at one of the hot shoe styles last night, on the feet of Jourdan Dunn and Kendall Jenner.
The two models joined Balmain designer Olivier Rousteing on the red carpet for the Billboard Music Awards, wearing thigh-high stiletto boots and apparel from the Balmain x H&M collection. Jenner paired her boots with a long velvet jacket embellished with pearls, while Dunn opted for a sheer rope top and draped mini skirt.
H&M announced today that the collaboration will debut on Nov. 5 in more than 250 stores worldwide and online. It will consist of clothing, shoes and accessories for men and women.

“We are excited to have Balmain as our guest designer at H&M and create a truly involving experience for everybody,” Ann-Sofie Johansson, creative adviser at H&M, said in a statement. “With its mix of couture spirit and streetwear attitude, Balmain owns a unique style, at once opulent and direct, sensual and energetic. It is also closely linked to the show business and music worlds, which adds another element of surprise.”
Indeed, 29-year-old Rousteing has developed close ties with the celebrity world and has fostered a large social media following, with more than 19,600 Twitter followers. To generate attention for the fall collaboration, the French designer and H&M created the hashtag #HMBalmaination, encouraging fans to share their thoughts.
“I want to talk to my generation: This is my main purpose as a designer,” Rousteing said in a statement. “H&M allows me the unique possibility of bringing everyone into the world of Balmain, getting a piece of the dream and creating a global #HMBalmaination: a movement of togetherness, fueled on a hashtag.”
