Stars Arrive For Opening Night of US Open

The US Open may be all about the tennis stars on the court, but it’s also a major venue for spotting celebrity in standout shoes.

Yesterday’s opening-night celebration kicked off the big event, and with New York playing host, the celebrities out and about in standout shoes were numerous. Singers Vanessa Williams and Josh Groban performed during the opening ceremony. Also on hand were famous faces like Katie Couric, Alec Baldwin and future “Zoolander 2” star Ben Stiller.

Of all the opening-night looks out at the Flushing Meadows courts, we loved Anna Chlumsky’s sweet white day dress paired with Paul Andrew’s block-heel sandals, called Lexington. Considering that it was still about 90 degrees last night at 7pm in Queens, her look felt fresh and appropriate for the courtside weather .

Other sightings included Amanda Seyfried in a scalloped dress and pumps and Anna Wintour in a deep red lace dress and kitten-heel sandals. Her daughter, Bee Shaffer, wore a Michael Kors dress and platform heeled sandals.
