Designer and TV personality Nicole Richie is known for her eclectic style choices. One day she’s boho chic, the next day a rocker babe and the next all about sleek feminine elegance — and quite often she’s a combination of all of thoset and more. Then, of course, there’s her ever-changing hair color, which has segued from multiple shades of blue and purple to her current bright pink.
When it comes to her red carpet footwear choices, Richie, who’s the creative force behind the House of Harlow 1960 brand, tends to opt for classic silhouettes, such as two-strap sandals and single-sole pointy-toe pumps from brands like Jimmy Choo and Christian Louboutin.
Meanwhile, in her everyday life, the mom of two is a big fan of comfort and lately has embraced the unisex trend with flat brogues and Chelsea boots. On the set of her VHI series, “Candidly Nicole,” she sports a range of looks, from luxury labels like Balenciaga, Manolo Blahnik and Saint Laurent.
Last December, when Footwear News selected Richie as Style Influencer of the Year for the 2014 FN Achievement Awards, she told us, “I encourage my customers not to focus on trends, [but instead] focus on being an individual and dressing for themselves. It’s about understanding what makes them feel confident. If you look at yourself as a canvas, you’re able to present yourself to the world in whatever way you want.”
