Stars are hitting the red carpet for the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards, which honor the best in the music industry. Miley Cyrus is hosting and is expected to appear in multiple barely-there outfits. Her first look of the night included custom-made silver thigh-high Versace boots.
This week, MTV made a series of major announcements about the show. Designer Jeremy Scott reimagined the iconic Moon Man award for the show in a rainbow of colors complete with a peace sign chain necklace and his signature winged shoes.
Kanye West is set to receive the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award, which honors his music and video accomplishments as well as his impact on fashion, art and MTV culture. Beyoncé, Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears have all won the award in the past.
In another exciting piece of news, Taylor Swift is premiering her video for “Wildest Dreams” during the pre-show. Swift, who’s been very busy on her 1989 World Tour and just put on a series of star-studded performances in Los Angeles, is nominated for 10 awards. Other nominees include Ed Sheeran, Beyoncé, Sia and Maroon 5.
Nicki Minaj, who gave a memorable performance of her hit song “Anaconda” at last year’s VMAs, is set to open the show tonight.
