In fact, many Oscar nominees and attendees did double duty, attending Tom Ford’s fashion presentation before heading to Hollywood to get in on all the red carpet action. Needless to say, there are plenty of prime footwear moments to celebrate today.
Monday is always the busiest day at London Fashion Week, and today was no different. Burberry’s star-powered front row looked like a Best-Of medley from the fashion industry. Cara Delevingne, Jourdan Dunn and Kate Moss sat center stage at Christopher Bailey’s presentation for the Brit heritage label.
With that style-heavy trio flanked on either side by Maggie Gyllenhaal, Sam Smith, Mario Testino and Naomi Campbell, FN didn’t know whose shoes to look at first.
No one disappointed. From Smith in sharp monk-strap shoes to Delevingne (fashion’s current It Girl) in ’70s-style suede boots and Moss (fashion’s original It Girl) in round-toe black pumps, the show was a feast of footwear. Delevingne posted a pic of her “crew” on Instagram just after the show, as well as pic of models flooding the runway at the end of the show, giving an up-close glimpse of Bailey’s shoe direction for fall ’15.
Over the weekend, Tom Ford commanded quite the crowd: Julianne Moore, Reese Witherspoon, Jennifer Lopez, Gwyneth Paltrow and more arrived in footwear (and apparel) designs from Ford’s collections past and present. Although many onlookers assumed that any number of these A-list attendees (especially Moore) would be wearing Ford on Sunday night, FN didn’t spot any Tom Ford shoes on the red carpet.
