FN’s sneaker columnist, Stacey Griffith, has switched it up this week and taken a break from her usual eye-catching sneakers. The worthy replacement? Brunello Cucinelli boots straight from the brand’s fall ’15 presentation. See her thoughts on the style below:
“I normally feature sneakers in my column, but this week I’m completely obsessed with this fall ’15 boot by Brunello Cucinelli. I am blessed to have access to these shoes before they hit the market, so calm down everyone, they aren’t available (YET!).
It’s hard to nail a boot that is aggressive and elegant at the same time, but they did it and I’m obsessed. The Bos Taurus is made of calf leather, and in true Cucinelli fashion, the espresso colorway combined with a fabulous glitzy kiltie makes for an unexpected take.
The boot also has a micro sole and rubber tread with a fabric-effect print. The signature Monili kiltie is assembled to the shoes by hand (which no machine can do), and there are tiny chains placed onto each fringe. The complete making is artisan! In my opinion, this is obviously what keeps the brand in a league of its own. Often, when clothing designers venture into their footwear element, they either outshine their clothing or dim the light on the brand. In this case, it is hard to say which division of Cucinelli shines the brightest. I say ‘Om’ to everything!”
