As if it’s not enough being a mega-star on his own, Leonardo DiCaprio also has the ability to bring together some of the other biggest names in Hollywood, especially for a good cause.
DiCaprio held his second annual gala in Saint Tropez to raise money for the Leonardo DiCaprio foundation, which provides funds to protect threatened ecosystems. Some of the foundation’s recent investments include initiatives to protect tigers from extinction and support indigenous people in the Amazon.
The foundation was started in 1998 and supports over 65 organizations. Items up for auction reportedly included art and luxury items as well as a one-on-one match with tennis star Roger Federer, a seat in David Beckham’s private box at Wembley Stadium, and even a stay at DiCaprio’s private island in Belize.
For a gala such as this, the guests arrived in high style. Kate Hudson wore a cut-out Julien Macdonald gown with black platform sandals. She and a group of other guests hammed it up for the camera including Michelle Rodriguez and Nina Dobrev. Dobrev wore a white and gold gown from Reem Acra’s pre-fall ’15 collection, which she paired with champagne-hued wrap sandals.
Rodriguez was spotted arriving for the event holding her shoes in her hand as she made her way up the dock. Other guests included supermodel Irina Shayk, Natasha Poly, and Naomi Campbell. The trio was all dressed in Atelier Versace gowns. Campbell paired her high slit dress with black strappy sandals and Shayk chose a pair of platform strappy sandals. Orlando Bloom also arrived in a suit and black leather sneakers.
