Front-Row Shoe Highlights: Atelier Versace Fall 2015 Couture

Shiny patent platform sandals abounded at the Atelier Versace fall ’15 couture show in Paris. Paired with the feathery, playful looks that Donatella Versace sent down the runway were platform boots and sandals in a range of colors, from lilac to bright orange.

They were difficult to look away from, but the shoe style of the ladies in the front row almost stole the show. Industry heavyweights and celebrities such as supermodel Naomi Campbell and Nicky Hilton brought their A-game.

Campbell, who was seated next to fellow model Irina Shayk, wore metallic silver heels, while Shayk wore black patent leather sandals with Lucite heels. Rosie Huntington-Whitely paired her show-stopping sheer black gown from Atelier Versace’s fall ’15 collection with simple Gianvito Rossi sandals.

Two international fashion insiders stood out: Emily Hwang of the Asian Couture Federation chose embroidered black platforms, and Daria Shapovalova of Mercedes-Benz Kiev Fashion Days went with quirky blue booties featuring a white flower print.

Hilton wore a grommet-embellished white mini dress with sheer panels, which she paired with Christian Louboutin shimmery white pumps. Both Hilton and Huntington-Whitely introduced a new, unexpected trend: revealing just a bit of their lower behinds.
