Much of the NBA All-Star Game theatrics will take place in the air, but for the sneaker aficionado, all eyes will remain focused on the floor.
Many of the best ballers in the league will be sporting their latest signature sneakers, including top vote-getters Stephen Curry and LeBron James. And although Kobe Bryant is sidelined with an injury, Nike will release an all-star version of the 17-time all-star’s latest shoe.
The Warriors point guard – who topped all players in All-Star Game voting – will take the court wearing his first release with Under Armour, the Curry One, which will hit shelves Feb. 13.
“To be part of this process and to see the Curry One come to life is a dream come true,” the Golden State guard said.
The first signature shoe for Curry, who signed with Baltimore-based Under Armour in September 2013, will feature new technology from the company.
The sneakers will boast Charged Cushioning, designed to absorb impact and give you that all-important explosive first step, and Anafoam, made to fit the baller’s pressure points and distribute support.
While Curry will lead the backcourt for the West All-Stars wearing his signature shoe, LeBron James will be doing the same in the backcourt for the East.
Nike kicked off February by unveiling what the Cleveland superstar will be wearing during the All-Star Game: a version of his LeBron 12 modeled after the New York City skyline, with a Feb. 14 release date.
For fans of James and his signature sneakers, the month will see two additional releases of the shoe: the “Court Vision,” which was released Feb. 4, and the “Double Helix,” a bold burgundy, pink and volt version of the sneaker, which is set for a Feb. 28 release.
Although Bryant won’t be guarding anyone on the court during the game, February is a big month for his Nike signature shoe, the Kobe X. The month has already seen one release with the “Blue Lagoon,” which hit shelves Feb. 7, and two more versions of the shoe are set to be released: the “All-Star” on Feb. 13 and the “Poison Green” on Feb. 21.
Nike will also release two signature shoes from all-stars Kevin Durant with the KD7 on Feb. 13 and James’ teammate Kyrie Irving with the Kyrie 1 on Feb. 14.
