Ascend Amphitheater announced that Journeys, a division of Genesco Inc., will be the presenting sponsor of the Journeys Concert Series.
The series kicks off with the inaugural shows at the Nashville venue on July 30 and 31, with sold-out shows headlined by musician Eric Church.
“Since we opened our first store in 1986 in Rivergate Mall, Journeys has been headquartered in Nashville. Now, with over 1,200 stores across the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico, it is even more important for us to embrace the local community where our corporate employees live and work,” said Jim Estepa, president and CEO of The Journeys Group, in a statement. “Journeys has always been deeply rooted in music, supporting national concert tours and festivals.”
As presenting sponsor of all Live Nation events at Ascend Amphitheater, Journeys will also have in-store promotional rights and garner exposure from various media opportunities.
Ascend Amphitheater’s four-day grand opening weekend will mark the opening of the 10-acre Riverfront Park. The park includes a 1.5 acre lawn known as “The Green,” which will include a workout station as well as multi-use greenway trails, ornamental gardens, Nashville’s first downtown dog park, Wi-Fi access, and exercise and sports facilities, including two basketball half-courts.
Journeys is also a sponsor of the Vans Warped Tour.
