Eclectic sock subscription service Foot Cardigan is now offering a unique way to show your hometown pride.
On Dec. 14, the company will release Mytropolis, a line of limited-edition socks that feature modern adaptations of landmarks in three major cities: New York, Dallas and London.
An interpretation of New York City’s subway system, the Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge in Dallas and a Buckingham Palace guard appear on the three styles in the collection, which is designed for both men and women.
Each sock has a two-color scheme: The New York concept sock will be offered in eggnog and dark gray, London will come in hollyhock and eggnog and Dallas will be available in vivid blue and eggnog.
While Foot Cardigan is in the subscription business — it costs $9 a month to subscribe to the service — the company also offers socks for individual sale.
The brand said it plans to add Los Angeles and Chicago to the city-inspired collection soon.
Foot Cardigan has been riding high since two of its four founders, CEO Bryan Deluca and Chief Technology Officer Matt McClard, appeared on the popular ABC show “Shark Tank” in October. The duo landed a $250,000 investment from Dallas Mavericks owner and “Shark Tank” regular Mark Cuban and guest shark Troy Carter, founder and CEO of production company Atom Factory.
Deluca told Footwear News that the company’s orders skyrocketed following the airing of the show and that he planned to beef up his team to deal with the heightened demand.
