The American Apparel & Footwear Association has announced that Debi Mazar, native New Yorker and star of TV Land’s “Younger,” will MC its 2015 American Image Awards.
“I am deeply honored to host this exciting evening in the fashion and footwear industries, paying tribute to the achievements of our honorees in support of Mercy Ships,” Mazar said in a release. “I am also thrilled for my good friends Ruben and Isabel Toledo, who are unveiling Ruben’s new, iconic redesign of the American Image Awards statuette.”
Mazar made her feature film debut in Martin Scorsese’s “Goodfellas” and is best known for her portrayals of edgy, sharp-tongued characters in more than 70 movies. She has worked with directors Woody Allen, Oliver Stone, Michael Mann and Joel Schumacher.
The annual American Image Awards honors industry leaders who have exhibited excellence, leadership and outstanding achievement in all sectors of the apparel and footwear industries.
At this year’s event, to be held in New York City on April 27, Claudio Del Vecchio of Brooks Brothers, Diane Sullivan of Brown Shoe Company, Mark Derbyshire of Holt Renfrew, Cynthia Rowley and Kelly Osbourne will be on hand to accept awards.
The AAFA has also announced that Mike Ullman, J.C. Penney’s CEO and the chairman of Mercy Ships, will accept an award on behalf of the AAFA’s newest charity partner.
