Via Spiga has unveiled the images from its latest advertising campaign, and suddenly we have an urge to be by a pool in Miami. The photos, shot by photographer Sharif Hamza, feature American model Hilary Rhoda posing on a mirrored floor that reflects the walls’ blue with white clouds. The aesthetic is crisp and cool, as are the spring styles that grace Rhoda’s feet.
Let’s take a dip in and find out more about them.
Most notable are the two knee-high gladiators: the sexy Tammrynn sandal, made with black suede and metallic leather and perched on a high stiletto; and the flat Sumner style, in black leather. Via Spiga also picks up on some popular spring trends with the Moss wedge sandal on a cork bottom, the color-blocked suede Dahlia pump and the grommet-covered Tashara sandal.
The brand said 11 styles from the spring line will be featured in the campaign, which will begin appearing online and in print this month.
The sneak-peek images show a range of options to suit every aspect of a modern woman’s life. “From chic pointed-toe suede mules for a big meeting,- to spectacular black-and-gold gladiator heels for a night out, Via Spiga offers styles for every occasion,” the company said in a statement.
Rhoda, who was recently named by Forbes as one of the highest-paid models in the world, said in the release, “I love that the collection offers a wide variety of beautiful, well-made styles for the modern woman.” She added that the label’s history is also part of the appeal. “Via Spiga is such an iconic brand, so it was an honor to work with them on the campaign.”
Indeed, Via Spiga was founded in 1985 by designer Paolo Batacchi, who wanted to create shoes that would appeal to modern, on-the-go women. The original line aimed to offer chic Italian styling and a luxury sensibility, but at accessible prices.
Today, the brand, owned by St. Louis-based Brown Shoe Co., continues in that mission with sophisticated collections and marketing.
The star wattage of its ad campaigns is fairly new, though. For spring ’14, Via Spiga featured Russian swimsuit model Irina Shayk in a ’60s-inspired campaign, and now it has tapped Rhoda.
