Toms is taking yet another step in its mission to help the world least fortunate.
The company has teamed up with DreamJobbing.com, an online destination for unique job opportunities. Via the site, Toms has posted the short-term position of Global Giver. The selected applicant will travel with the Toms team to provide shoes, water and eyeglasses or eye surgery to those in need.
Via Dreamjobbing.com, applicants create a profile and upload a video to apply. They then activate their social networks in order to drive votes and increase their chances of landing the position.
The chosen candidate can share their experience on the site. Lastly, select DreamJobs participants will be packaged in an episode in a DreamJobbing TV series, which will in the U.S. and abroad.
The applicant who lands the Toms’ Global Giver DreamJob will start his or her journey at the company’s headquarters in Los Angeles and will then work directly with the Giving team to provide much-needed aid in countries around the world.
“There’s not a better feeling in the world than knowing that you personally helped make this planet a better place,” said Toms’ founder Blake Mycoskie. To date, Toms has given away more than 35 million pairs of shoes to children in need and helped restore sight to more than 300,000.
