[UPDATED] Industry Moves: July 2015

July 31, 2015: Kering fashion house Balenciaga announced that it will not renew its creative director Alexander Wang‘s contract beyond it’s initial term. Wang will show his final collection for Spring/Summer 2016 womenswear on Oct. 2 2015 in Paris and a new creative director for the brand will be announced later.

July 30, 2015: Foot Locker Inc. appointed Pawan Verma as SVP and CIO effective August 10. Verma, who most recently served as VP of digital and marketing technologies and services platforms at Target Corp., succeeds Peter Brown, who retired in April after 38 years with the company.

July 29, 2015: Handcrafted footwear company Mephisto Inc. has appointed Michael Crosno to president and CEO, effective Aug. 15, 2015. Crosno is rejoining the company after departing, as CEO, in 2010.

July 28, 2015: Asics Corp. has hired Torsten Widarzik as senior GM of its newly created Global Lifestyle Division effective Sept. 15, 2015. He joins Asics from his most recent position as CEO at German fashion label Campus.

July 27, 2015: Kering SA has appointed Grita Loebsack CEO of Luxury Couture & Leather Goods emerging brands, effective 14 September 2015. Loebsack was previously EVP of Global Skin Care at Unilever. She will report directly to François-Henri Pinault, chairman & CEO of Kering, and will be part of the group’s executive committee.

July 23, 2015: Luxe designer Tamara Mellon has appointed Tania Spinelli as the new chief design officer for the company.

July 21, 2015: Comfort footwear brand Abeo Biomechanical Footwear has appointed Rusty Hall, Mephisto’s president and CEO, president of its wholesale division.

July 21, 2015: David Murphy, former Dansko EVP of sales and marketing, has been appointed chairman of Abeo Biomechanical Footwear’s advisory committee.

July 21, 2015: Hunter Boot Ltd. has named Benedict Smith CFO of the company, effective July 27. Smith joins Hunter Boot from Game Digital, where he also served as CFO. Smith also spent six years at London-based department store chain Harrods Holdings Ltd. as finance director.

July 14, 2015: Guess Inc. has named Victor Herrero CEO of the company, effective August 2015, replacing co-founder and CEO Paul Marciano. Herrero joins Guess after serving as the head of Asia Pacific for Inditex Group, an international fashion retailer with brands that include Zara, Massimo Dutti and Pull & Bear,

July 14, 2015: Guess Inc.’s co-founder and CEO Paul Marciano will step down as CEO in August 2015. He  will replace the firm’s other co-founder, Maurice Marciano, as executive chairman of the board and will also continue to serve as chief creative officer.

July 14, 2015: Maurice Marciano will step down from his post as executive chairman of the board at Guess Inc. but will remain a director and has been named chairman emeritus by the board of directors.

July 14, 2015: Jill Granoff has resigned as CEO of Vince Holding Corp. — a post she’s held since May 2012 — but will remain in the slot throughout an undisclosed transition period.

July 14, 2015: Karin Gregersen, president and COO of Vince Holding Corp. since 2013, has also left the firm. The company said it does not intend to fill Gregersen’s position at this time.

July 14, 2015: Vince Holding Corp. has hired Livia Lee as SVP of merchandising. Lee will join the company on July 20 and report directly to current CEO Jill Granoff in the interim and then to Granoff’s successor.

July 13, 2015: Tom and Ruth Chapman, the husband-and-wife duo that founded Matchesfashion.com, have resigned as CEOs to become executive chairmen of the business.

July 13, 2015:  Matchesfashion.com has named Ulric Jerome, currently chief operating officer, as its CEO following the resignation of CEOs Tom and Ruth Chapman.
