Columbia Sportswear Co. announced several top-level changes today as the apparel maker aims to capture more of the growing outdoor and athletic market. Sorel also was a part of the changes.
Longtime CEO Tim Boyle, who has served as CEO, president and chairman, will continue on as CEO but will be joined by Bryan Timm as the new COO and president. Timm has been with the company for 17 years and most recently was promoted to EVP and chief operating officer in 2008.
Timm will continue to oversee the company’s sourcing, supply chain and distribution operations. His role has been expanded to include North American wholesale and the direct-to-consumer arm of the European and North American business. He will also direct the brand leaders at the brands Mountain Hardwear and Prana.
At Sorel, Mark Nenow was appointed president, a newly created role. Previously, he was VP of global footwear merchandising and design for Sorel and Montrail.
Other key appointments included:
Peter Bragdon was promoted to EVP and Chief Administrative Officer and General Counsel. He had been SVP of legal and corporate affairs and General Counsel and Secretary since 2010.
Tom Cusick was promoted to EVP of finance and CFO. Since 2010, he has been SVP of finance and CFO.
Joe Boyle was named VP of Columbia Brand Merchandising & Design, overseeing product creation for Columbia brand apparel, footwear, accessories and equipment.
